The Engine Control Unit (DME) calculates the required throttle opening based on driver input and engine conditions. It sends a command to the throttle body's motor, which adjusts the throttle plate via gears. The dual sensors provide real-time feedback on the plate's position, creating a closed-loop system for precise control.
After replacing or cleaning this component, a "Throttle Adaptation/Alignment" procedure must be performed using a professional diagnostic scanner. This allows the ECU to relearn the throttle's limit positions; failure to do so may result in idle instability or other issues.
